The Urban Project Lodge was founded in 2011 at CNU19 concurrent with NextGen8 and was held at the Project Lodge venue at 817 East Johnson Street, Madison WI.

The Project Lodge was founded as a workspace for New Urbanist gather at the annual Congress to work. The Project Lodge is free and has beer.

"In short: We want to work on projects and new ideas. We want to innovate and further the study of urbanism. We want to network, socialize, participate, and have a few drinks."

Wednesday June 1, and continuing through Saturday June 4 2011, the project lodge was open to all – for free. It was located at an event space outfitted with free wifi, plenty of outlets, tables and chairs, basic office supplies and printer, and $1 drinks. Coffee from 9am-3pm, and beer from 3pm to 9pm/close.
